Te Awamutu Youth

Welcome to Te Awamutu Youth

Firstly I would love to welcome you to something new and exciting.

For nearly a year I have been talking with many different youth about gathering them together on a regular basis for what many of us would historically know as a youth group. A place where young people can gather in a safe environment, where they can get involved in activities, events and games that are tailormade to suit them.

After taking a much needed break and a change in employment I am excited to be launching this new youth gathering with the support and backing of the St Andrews Presbyterian Church, to which I am employed and sit under for accountability and support.

My desire is to see these youth enjoy their youthfulness in a way that's different to what the majority of the world offers. An environment free from drugs and alcohol, an environment where everyone is treated with respect and is valued. A place where bullying is not permitted, where relationships are built and encouraged on friendships over attraction.

I believe that through the challenging years these youth go through, there needs to be places available for them stay grounded, stay safe and have the opportunity to ask questions, get support and be encouraged to give it everything they have got.

As we establish and build momentum we will be gathering every two weeks, with different events and activities planned out for them. Over the next few weeks I will be posting regular information on here to keep everyone informed and up to date on what we are doing.

In the meantime if you would like to connect with me and ask any questions please feel free to reach out.

Our first event will be held on Friday the 29th July here at St Andrews Presbyterian Church in Te Awamutu. More information to come.

Exciting time ahead for out Te Awamutu Youth
